Spontaneity is great, but just keep these pointers in mind and you'll be happier with the results...

1. LIGHTING   Click for Lighting Tips
Too dark and you get a grainy image without much color. Well lit footage makes your film look like it was shot with a really good camera. A 60-watt lamp may give the room a soft, romantic glow, but it will make your video muddy and unwatchable.  Second, keep the camcorder as steady as possible. Place it on a table or some other fixed surface, or better yet, use a tripod.
Work with the light that is already there.
  • Put as many existing lights and lamps on in the room to increase the room's overall light level.
  • Point lighting towards subject whenever possible & to avoid shadows where you don't want them.
  • Replace existing light bulbs with more powerful light bulbs whenever possible.
2. CENTER & FILL THE FRAME With The Subject
3. SUBJECT    Click for Angle Tips
Think about your intended (Big Butt) audience. The content of your video must be relevant to the audience.
4. Don't shoot in LP mode.
Since the dawn of the VCR, people have been using LP (long play) mode to fit more video on each tape--at the expense of video quality. What's worse: a gap of 2 to 3 minutes while you swap in a new tape or an entire video that looks grainy? The latter is what you'll get from LP, even if you have a high-end camcorder. If you really need to fit more video on each tape, try a little in-camera editing. Shoot only the scenes you really need; pause the recording during long, uneventful stretches.
5. TRIPOD
Even if your camcorder has image-stabilization features, they can't compare to the physical stability of a tripod. Unless you're specifically going for that overused documentary-style shaky look, put your camcorder on a tripod. You'll be amazed at how much better your video looks.
6. Don't turn on special effects.

8. Try Different Angles    Click for Angle Tips
Change positions approximately every 10 minutes or so.  Show the audience the front, back sides, above, below etc.  Creative things to do is film the subject from different angles: hand held camera sex or oral shots, standing over the bed, and so on.  Avoid the staggering boredom of watching the entire tape from the same perspective in the same position. Whenever possible, mix up your shots. Get high, get low; move in close, shoot from afar but not so far as not to fill in the frame with the subject. Add the occasional pan or slow zoom.

Tips for Home Video Care

Videos will melt; don't place them near heaters and radiators. The heat of a closed car or direct sunlight causes major video damage.

Magnetic or electro-magnetic fields may damage videos. Do not place videos on top of TV sets or stereo speakers; or near electric motors. Dust, dirt, food particles, and liquids will all cause damage if they get inside the video cassette.

Condensation on the tape will keep it from playing. Allow videos to warm to room temperature before inserting in the player.
